SWOON

Swoon is a New York based street artist, paving her own way in a scene that is male dominated. She rose to the forefront in the art world with her life-size wheat-pasted prints of figures, often depicting family and friends. In Judy Chicago's most well-known work, The Dinner Party, 1974-1979, Chicago made a plate dedicated to Swoon's 11th great grandmother, her first ancestor to come to America, Anne Hutchinson- persecuted for boldly breaking Puritanical barriers for women, and famously banished from Massachusetts Bay Colony.
